KRPR is pleased to be a part of this year's National Cherry Blossom Festival. Specifically, we have been working to garner attention for the first-ever Anacostia River Festival, celebrating the history, ecology and communities along the banks of the Anacostia River in Washington, D.C. The Anacostia River Festival is being presented in partnership by the 11th Street Bridge Project and the National Park Service. It is this year's official closing event of the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
It has been an honor to be a part of an internationally-known festival, especially as the Anacostia River Festival is set to shed light on a wonderful part of the city that is often overlooked. If you're curious to learn more about the festival, check out just some of the press we have been able to procure below. Also, you can catch Scott Kratz, 11th Street Bridge Project Director, along with a member of the Earth Conservation Core on "Let's Talk Live" on ABC7 tomorrow morning. They will have an owl live on the set named Mr. Hoots!
